Artist's Comments
This is the first of a series of paintings I hope to exhibit next year. This one features a distorted image of myself in the aspect of the Hulk, as I drew him back in '93 at the end of one issue. I'm about to start painting Dougie Braithwaite in the aspect of one of his Superman pieces, and Chris Weston as one of his creations. Right now I have a bunch of creators all ready to be a part of the project.
The nice thing here is seeing the creators in a very human form. We're usually anonymous, and yet so much of ourselves is invested in the work we do. It's the toiling invisible creator that excites me, and that I want to show. We're all artists at heart, and that's rarely appreciated. I'd like to do my bit to change that. Again, this is a big painting - three feet squared - painted in acrylic on canvas. Regards, Liam. |
