Thanks. Very different approach though. The Sonja was done as a black and white inked piece, then coloured. This piece was an attempt to create something in artgerm's style. I have a way to go before I master the technique, but it was 'quite' close for a first bash!
I'm curious, how long did it take you to draw this? Also how how long have you been drawing & how often? The reason I'm curious is because I'm a multimedia college student taking a figure drawing class & I'm basically bad at it. ^.^
It took about two solid days - maybe 16 hours? I've been a professional illustrator for 27 years now, and I think you may find a lot of your answers in the thread following this profile piece. Hope it helps! liamsharp.deviantart.com/journ…
I like it! Only thing that's bothering me a bit is her waist...it's going a little Disney, if you know what I mean. Maybe you could pull it out a tad and dip it in a little less? Just a thought. Otherwise, great job.
I was exaggerating pretty much everything! Too big eyes, tiny nose and chin, pneumatic boobs... It's certainly not realistic! But I did actually base it on a photo of a model friend of mine, Tiffany Taylor, and I swear she's 100% this shape! The only thing I didn't exaggerate was her torso funnily enough! Funny that! Thanks for the kind words!
