Out of curiosity, what's the general consensus of the place traditionally painted comic art has in comics (as far as big companies are concerned) these days? That is to say if you're going for a fully painted look, would you get grief if you said you'd rather use acrylic than photoshop?
The impression i get is that most people switch to digital because they feel they have more control over it, more so if the comic art involves a 3 man team (penciller, inker, colourist). Fully painted art seems more localized to comics where everyone agrees it would benefit from that choice (e.g. fantasy and i suppose Indie).
